About Technical Mount

Technical mount is a mount variation where you have one hook behind your opponent's leg and one foot posted on the mat. This position is a transitional powerhouse, connecting mount to back control.

When your opponent turns to escape mount, you follow them into technical mount. From here you can take the back by inserting your second hook, or attack with chokes and armbars while they are turned.

The posted foot gives you excellent base and mobility. Use it to follow your opponent's movement and stay tight. Technical mount is not a resting position. Stay active, threaten submissions, and take the back when the opening appears.
