About technical mount control techniques

Technical mount control is about following your opponent's movement. When they turn to escape regular mount, you transition to technical mount with one hook in and one foot posted. Your posted foot gives you mobility to track their hips.

Keep your chest connected to their back. Your seatbelt grip or crossface maintains upper body control. The hook behind their thigh prevents them from spinning away. Together these three points of contact give you a stable platform.

Technical mount is inherently dynamic. Your opponent will try to flatten back down or complete the turn to turtle. Read their movement and choose whether to follow them to back control, return to full mount, or attack a submission.
