About s-mount control techniques

S-mount control is about climbing to the highest possible mount position and staying there. Your knee next to their ear and your foot posted on the opposite side create a platform that is extremely difficult to escape.

The transition from regular mount to s-mount requires patience. Climb your hips incrementally. Use your hands to walk up their body. When you reach the high position, slide your knee to their ear and post the opposite foot. Do not rush this process.

Once in s-mount, your weight distribution keeps your opponent pinned. They cannot bridge effectively because your base is too high. They cannot shrimp because your posted foot blocks their hip movement. From here, you dictate the pace entirely.
