About Mount
Mount is one of the most dominant positions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. You sit on your opponent's torso with your knees on the mat, giving you full control over their movement while keeping both hands free to attack.
From mount you can attack with cross chokes, Ezekiel chokes, armbars, Americanas, and mounted triangles. Your opponent has limited escape options and must spend energy just to survive. In competition, mount scores 4 points.
The key to a strong mount is hip pressure and hand position. Stay heavy on your opponent, keep your base wide, and climb your hips high toward their chest. When they try to escape, use their movement to set up submissions.
