About inside sankaku submission techniques

Inside sankaku (also called the saddle or 411) is the strongest leg lock control position in BJJ. Your legs triangle around your opponent's thigh, locking their knee in place and exposing the heel for attack.

The inside heel hook is the primary submission from inside sankaku. Control the knee line with your triangle, grip the heel with both hands, and rotate toward their toes. The rotational force on the knee makes this one of the most effective submissions in the sport.

Kneebars are your secondary attack when the heel hook is defended. Extend your hips against their knee while maintaining your triangle control. The transition between heel hook and kneebar creates a submission chain that is very difficult to escape once locked in.
